He Knew You...But He Still Came
by Rev. Moses K. Ndereva, Pastor – Lifeline Community Fellowship
Isaiah 9:6
6.For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
John 1:10-12
10.He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11.He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12.Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—
Jesus Christ, the King of glory, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of peace, wonderful counselor, the Savior of the world and the soon coming Messiah; heard your story of distress, defeat, debt, doom and death penalty. He foreknew that you would never ever make it however hard you tried. He knew that you may under pressure let Him down like Peter or even Judas even after saving you. He knew there would be no room for Him at the Inns and Hotels, much less in the peoples’ hearts. He knew exactly who we were in our fallen state but He willingly came to earth. He left His home in glory and splendor. He lay down His Godly nature and humbled himself to be a child and a man; the very icon of sin and failure. He became a son of man; a son of Adam. He took upon himself the identity of sin in order to crash the power of sin; and yes’, He did!
He came but we still fail to make room for Him today. We still do not recognize Him. We still doubt whether other great men equal Him in status. We still doubt his might, counsel, peace, government, son-ship, fatherhood and even the very salvation He offers. Though we were made through Him, we are actively searching today whether we evolved or were created divinely. He had to purchase his own one more time with His blood, even though we belonged to Him in the first place. Most of the world to which He came and was given has not yet decided to receive Him. To those who have received Him, we are often caught in denial like Peter and sometimes in betrayal like Judas.
However, since He is the everlasting father, the only mediator between God and man, He keeps following us with His unending love. He still stands at the door of our hearts knocking and waiting to be received. He has the power to gatecrash but His gentle servant-hood nature restrains Him until we are willing to let Him in.
Isaiah 42:3-4
3.a bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;
4.he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his law the islands will put their hope."
Where is your hope today? To them that received Him, he gave them power to become sons of God, just as He is. You can trust Him and receive Him.
